We hope you find posting on XSKIWIRE to be an easy process. Currently, there five things you need to enter when submitting a new link. They are:
- Title
- Excerpt/Summary
- URL to the Web Content
- Subwire
Title
The title is the attention grabber. It usually is the title of the article or media you are posting, but you can customize it to fit how you want to post the link, so long as it follows our guidelines. Do not write in all caps or editorialize the title.
Excerpt/Summary
The text allows you to provide a brief summary of what the link is. It should not be the full text of the article, just something to provide users with a little more detail about the link. Like the title, do not write in all caps and do not editorialize the summary.
URL
This is the URL to the content you are submitting. If the link has already been posted you will be notified when you try and submit the link. Link cross-posting between subwires is allowed, however the content must fit the guidelines of the subwires otherwise you will run the risk of being flagged as a spammer. Also be sure to look for the original source of the content you are posting. The goal of the site is to grade on quality, so credit to the content creator should be given where it is due.
Subwire
The last item to specify is the subwire. A subwire is essentially a category that groups links together. It allows for links to be found by users interested in a given topic that they may have otherwise missed if the links never made it to the front page. You must choose a currently available subwire from the form to submit a link. Subwires will appear as you type or a full list can be viewed here.
We are always interested in hearing feedback, let us know if you have any suggestions!
